I am diabetic and I use the internet for all sorts of information to help me control my diabetes. It is a useful tool but when it comes to applying the actions necessary to receive proper care, I still see my doctor. Life insurance quotes on the internet are similar. I would suggest using them as a guide and tool to understand cost and benefits. When it comes time to take action use the information with a professional insurance agent who can implement a plan that meets your individual needs.

I know this is not what you wish to hear but it depends…
DI insurance is based upon how much benefit you want, the waiting period to collect benefits, the length of time you may receive benefits, the class of occupation you are in, your age, your sex, your smoking status, your health etc.
You really need to ask for a personalized illustration to get a correct answer.

You must make a claim application to both companies. Each insurance carrier makes their own determination as to whether they deem you disabled based upon their definition of disability. You can collect from both but the timing is determined by the waiting period to receive benefits as well as the definition of disability discussed above.
