I have never heard of a down payment for auto insurance. You are accepted or rejected based on the information you give them regarding your driving record. Make sure you tell the truth, because they will check. If they find out after you have paid your premium they could cancel your insurance……Yes some companies will allow monthly payments. Not too many. Just ask
